English road craftsman Banksy is to give the returns from the closeout of one of his works, esteemed at over $1 million, to a Palestinian emergency clinic, one of his teammates told AFP on Monday.
Named Mediterranean Sea View 2017, the work is to be unloaded Tuesday at Sotheby’s in London, said Wissam Salsaa, executive of the Walled Off Hotel which Banksy helped set up in 2017 in the Palestinian city of Bethlehem in the Israeli-involved West Bank.
The work contains three oil artworks portraying perspectives on seething oceans and shoreline covered with orange life coats and floats, insinuating “to the carries on with lost adrift during the European transient ’emergency’ of the 2010s”, as indicated by the depiction on the Sotheby’s site.
The work, which used to hang in the section of the lodging, is esteemed at $1.5 million, as indicated by Salsaa.
